Design Brief – Fakir Pasteur
Fakir Hausgeräte aims to reinterpret the deeply rooted yogurt tradition in Turkish culture through modern technology. In Turkey, yogurt is not only a staple food but also a symbol of sharing and community. The envisioned product will safely pasteurize raw milk, eliminating harmful bacteria, and then allow users to control the fermentation process with adjustable time and temperature. Through a mobile application, users will be able to share recipes and starter culture methods, bringing the essence of traditional sharing into the digital age.
Technical priorities include a pasteurization process with one-hour heating and cooling cycles, fermentation between 4–12 hours, the ability to prepare yogurt from different milk types (buffalo, goat, probiotic, etc.), a steam release system to prevent condensation, illuminated feedback for each stage, and capacitive touchscreen controls for flavor and texture adjustments. Inspired by extended family culture, the device will feature a 3-liter large container, while also offering special jars for babies, enabling personalized production for diverse household needs.
The design language should combine minimal, contemporary aesthetics with a sense of cultural heritage. The target audience includes health-conscious individuals, families, and parents seeking natural, additive-free nutrition for their children. The final product will reflect Fakir Hausgeräte’s vision of uniting technology with healthy living, transforming cultural heritage into a modern, intelligent, and socially engaging kitchen solution.
