My name is Mustafa Kemal Karakaya. I was born in 1999 in Istanbul-Bahçelievler. I completed my primary education in 2013 at Bahçeşehir Süleyman Demirel Primary School and finished my secondary education in 2017 at Recep Güngör Anatolian High School. While continuing my high school education, I received pencil drawing training at Erart Fine Arts Preparation Academy. Due to the suspension of student admissions through the special talent exam for the Faculty of Art and Design Industrial Design Department and changes in the exam system, I prepared for an additional year and was accepted into the Industrial Design Department at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University with a numerical score. After completing my English preparatory education and my first year as the top student in my class, I received an honor certificate. Later, I transferred to the Industrial Design Department at Selçuk University.
I graduated from Anadolu University with a degree in Web Design and Coding in May 2022. In 2020, I began freelancing under the name "Stakarts Studios" and later created my website, www.stakarts.com, where I showcase my work in industrial design, web design, and graphic design. I also share articles on art, design, and design history on my website.
I completed an entrepreneurship training program provided by KOSGEB and earned a certificate. Currently, I am following the process of establishing my own company with support from KOSGEB. I have also obtained certificates in "Solid Object Modeling - FreeCAD," "Photoshop Basics," and "Photoshop Basics 2" from ODTÜ's Bilgeis platform, as well as in "User Experience Design (UX Design)" from Istanbul Business Institute.
In September 2021, I started studying Graphic Design as part of a distance learning program at Istanbul University. In November 2021, I applied to the Turkish Patent Institute for trademark registration for the Stakarts brand, which was successfully registered in 2022.
In August 2021, I was hired by Cormac Machinery to join the R&D team for a digital sock knitting machine that had been previously imported to Turkey. My responsibilities included exterior design, material selection, and ergonomic improvements for the machine, as well as creating UI/UX designs for its screen. I also produced a promotional film for the product. My employment at Cormac Machinery ended in November 2022.
During my mandatory summer internship in 2022, I was accepted by OTOKAR Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. Following a successful internship, I was awarded first place in the first semester of my fourth year, achieving the highest GPA of 3.80.
In November 2022, I developed 3D models and a promotional film for my personal project, Stakarts Kaffer. At the İlk El event held at the IPA (Istanbul Planning Agency) campus, I met a company called Köpüklü, which showcases its products. After presenting my promotional film, Köpüklü showed interest in my product and asked me to work on development projects for their own products. I designed a kiosk coffee stand, interface, graphics, and a desktop machine for Köpüklü.
On June 10, 2023, I completed my mandatory design internship at Arçelik Global A.Ş. During this internship, I designed a small household appliance for Beko, which I named "Teosta," a combined toaster, tea, and coffee maker.
In September 2023, I began my final year at Selçuk University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, in the Industrial Design Department. During the second semester, I completed my graduation project at Beko Corporate. Over a 6-month period, I designed a set of three products for the Grundig Gardenkit gardening tools collection.
On June 28, 2024, I graduated with a GPA of 3.51/4, earning the title of valedictorian and receiving the highest honors.
